Our story

HANAHANIM is a single word, but it holds two: Hana Hanım — "Lady Hana" in Turkish. It is the name of my wife, and the reason this brand exists. Hanım is a Turkish honorific of warmth and respect — the way a man might address the woman he holds in highest regard.

I preferred the name as one word on purpose. Hana and Hanım are two cultures (Palestinian and Turkish), and I wanted them joined, not separated — because in both traditions, the olive tree is not just a crop, but memory, family, and home.

Fifteen years ago, after long careers in technology, my wife and I bought a small olive farm in Bozköy, Türkiye. What started as a small hobby — tending trees, learning the land, understanding the oil — slowly grew. Over the years we added more farms, but Bozköy remained the original, the one that taught us. The work was patient. Olive trees teach patience.

The farm taught me what good olive oil should taste like. But its harvest is small, and almost all of it stays in Türkiye, made for the people we know there.

Today, from Dubai, I bring that same standard to the UAE — through carefully chosen estates across Türkiye and Crete (Girit) that meet the bar I learned at home. Tasted before I commit to any of them. Delivered fresh.

I do this because I love it, because I believe the people who buy from HANAHANIM deserve the same care I give my own family's table.

Our journey

In 2011, we bought our first olive grove in Türkiye. Over the years we added more farms, learning the craft and the land. In 2016, the Bozköy farm earned organic certification. In 2017, we registered HAMUSH FZCO in Dubai and began supplying olive oil to UAE restaurants, hotels, and gourmet retailers. In 2019, we expanded our supplier base across Türkiye and Crete (Girit).

In 2020, COVID broke the global olive oil supply chain. UAE consumers were facing shortages on retail shelves. We stepped in. We opened HANAHANIM on Amazon and Noon — bringing the same olive oils to home kitchens that we had been supplying to professional ones for three years already.

In 2023, we launched on Tradeling and Talabat, and added private label production. In 2024, we added Careem and began representing other olive oil brands in markets where they didn't have direct presence.

Fifteen years of one thing. Olive Oil, only Olive Oil.
