Every HANAHANIM bottle carries a number. Read it, and you know exactly where the oil came from.

For Turkish products, the number is built from the vehicle license plate code of the Turkish province where the olives were grown. 17 is Çanakkale, where our family farm sits. 35 is İzmir, where some of our supplier estates are. The second number — .1, .2 — tells you which supplier from that province.

For Cretan products, we use a different system: the country code of Greece (30), followed by the city code for Crete (28), then the supplier number.

So when you see 35.1, you're looking at oil from İzmir, supplier 1. When you see 30.28.1, you're looking at oil from Crete, supplier 1. No marketing names. No "Estate Reserve" abstractions. Just where the oil is from, in the same numbers the Turkish and Greek governments use.

It's a small thing. But we believe that if a bottle of olive oil can tell you where it's from in a way you can verify, it should.
